FarmLink solves the problem of inaccessibility of industrial off-takers to supply of high quality fruits and vegetables. They connect fruit and vegetable farmers to market for their farm produce. FarmLink works closely with farmers, retailers and processors to achieve their objectives.

Challenge: Lack of easy access to market by farmers, retailers and processors

Farmers often incur added costs such as transportation, labour, commission and postharvest losses in the quest to get market for their farm produce. Retailers and processors most at times do not get inputs in bulk quantity required to deliver on their business objectives. These altogether do not allow for protection of the environment and sustainable use of environmental resources.

Solution: Provision of Partnership Farming

FarmLink accomplishes its mission through a modernized approach to the Indian food supply chain known as “Partnership Farming”. Partnership farming equips farmers with the right blend of knowledge, inputs and extension services to enable farmers adopt socially responsible farming practices, build viable businesses and become successful in their farming businesses thereby positively impacting the entire rural ecosystem.

Key Differentiator and Uniqueness of FarmLink

-They provide extension services and all-round support to farmers in order to enable them build stable and secure relationships while ensuring regular income based on long term off-take agreements.

-They provide a network of world class service collection centers where planned, predictable and consistent industrial scale sourcing is achieved.

-They provide a traceability feature on their app which enables consumers keep track of how their where, when and how their food was produced

-They also provide value added processing services which include an assortment of ready-to-retail customer friendly products

-They are compliant with the highest global standards (GAP, GMP, HACCP) in terms of quality and safety of processes and operations

-Their consistent supply of fresh high quality produce enables their corporate customers meet the needs of end consumers.

Looking Ahead:

FarmLink is developing a pan-India platform of farm-level collection, value addition and staging centers with a strong presence in western India. It is planning to geographically expand to the north and south following the foot print of its industrial customers. Currently the main facilities are in Vashi, Navi Mumbai and Manjarwadi, Maharashtra. The former is Asia’s largest agri produce market and the latter is near Narayangaon, the most important centre in the state for a variety of fruit and vegetable produce.
