Introduction

AgriBazaar is changing the way India deals with its harvest by linking farmers and buyers through one of the biggest digital agri-trading platforms in the country. Amit and Ajay Agarwal, two brothers, started the company in 2016, which is based in Mumbai. The platform supports trade for over 50 types of agricultural produce. It lets farmers discover better prices, guarantees product quality, and provides secure payment options. At the same time, buyers benefit from clear and trackable processes. While traditional markets still rely on mandis and middlemen, AgriBazaar offers a fresh approach. It gives direct access to buyers’ digital payment options, and even helps with logistics to farmers’ homes. The goal is to boost farmers’ incomes and make trading agricultural goods smoother and more effective.

Tackling Agricultural Challenges

Indian farming has faced problems like middleman layers confusing pricing late payments, and transport headaches that cut into what farmers earn. Even when goods sell at high market rates, farmers often get a small slice of that money due to commission fees and fights over quality. AgriBazaar stepped in to change this situation. It created a digital system for trading farm goods taking care of these issues . It lowers commission fees from around 2–3% to just 0.5% helping farmers keep more money. It also guarantees digital payments, checks quality in labs, and handles delivery without stress. AgriBazaar puts fairness, trust, and clarity back where they belong—with the farmers who grow our food.

Key Offerings

AgriBazaar provides a complete platform to manage post-harvest trade. The system allows clear dealings between farmers, FPOs, traders, processors, and big buyers.

  • Digital Agri-Marketplace: Its digital agri-marketplace lets farmers post their crops online. Buyers, including wholesalers and exporters, can then place direct orders there. The platform supports trading across 50+ commodities including wheat, paddy, pulses, oilseeds, and spices.

Real Impact

AgriBazaar has created a powerful digital link between India’s farmers and the food markets, transforming how agricultural trade happens. With hundreds of thousands of farmers using the platform and transactions worth thousands of crores flowing through it, AgriBazaar has helped boost farmer incomes by as much as 20% in many areas by removing middlemen. The ease of doorstep logistics combined with secure digital payments has given both farmers and buyers much-needed peace of mind. Beyond improving incomes, AgriBazaar’s reliable payment systems and efficient logistics have cut down post-harvest losses, while also promoting sustainable farming through crop traceability and waste reduction—making a real difference to farmers’ lives and the environment.

Success Story

Take the story of Laxman Yadav, a soybean farmer from Madhya Pradesh, who struggled for years with local traders delaying payments and charging high commissions. In 2022, he decided to try AgriBazaar through a local farmer producer organization. Using the app, Laxman listed 40 quintals of soybean, got his produce quality-graded, and received offers from three different buyers. His crop was picked up right from his doorstep, and within 24 hours, the full payment was safely credited to his account. Thanks to the better price, Laxman invested in a drip irrigation system and started growing pulses alongside soybeans. Now, he actively encourages his fellow villagers to embrace digital trading with AgriBazaar.
