Introduction

GROWiT India Pvt. Ltd. is a Surat-based agritech pioneer founded in 2020 by brothers Saurabh and Akshay Agarwal. Born from their mission to protect crops through plasticulture innovation, GROWiT serves as the agricultural arm of Alpha Plastomers. Through its mantra “We help. You grow.”, the company offers an integrated line of solutions—from mulch films, shade nets, crop covers, weed mats, grow bags, and grow fences to pond liners and agri wires—empowering farmers to farm smarter and more sustainably.

Tackling Agricultural Challenges

Indian smallholder farmers face core challenges: unpredictable weather extremes, pest invasions, chronic soil degradation, water inefficiencies, and lack of affordable farm tech. GROWiT addresses these obstacles head-on through protective farming. Its plasticulture solutions regulate soil moisture, suppress weeds, shield from pests, and buffer climatic swings—delivering yield improvements up to 100%, reducing pesticide and fertilizer usage by 50–70%, and cutting water use by up to 60% .

Key Offerings

In April 2025, GROWiT introduced India’s first pocket-friendly soil testing device, enabling real-time soil mapping at the farm level. Combined with a robust franchise network of 650+ outlets across 12 states and on-ground demo farms (Grow Kshetras), GROWiT ensures scalable last-mile delivery paired with farmer training. Its product suite enhances crop resilience and operational efficiency for farmers across diverse geographies.

Real Impact

GROWiT’s farmer base has surged to over 225,000 across 12 states, up from 15,000 in 2022, with revenue growing from ₹18 crore (FY 21–22) to an expected ₹50 crore (FY 22–23), representing a 50–60% CAGR . Farmers utilizing GROWiT’s solutions report significant yield gains (40–100%), reductions in input costs, and improved crop quality—clear evidence of the model’s effectiveness

Success Story

A farmer in Gujarat faced erratic weather and soil nutrient deficiencies. By integrating GROWiT’s mulch films, crop covers, and soil testing tool, he optimized irrigation and nutrient application. As a result, tomato yields rose by 70%, while irrigation costs fell by 30% within a single season—validating GROWiT’s mission to make farming efficient, sustainable, and profitable.

Lessons for Agri-Startups

GROWiT’s success offers valuable insights for emerging agritech ventures:
Combine physical and digital: Physical tools (e.g., mulch films) integrated with digital soil-mapping enable scalable impact.
Start simple, scale fast: Begin with low-barrier, high-impact products before layering advanced tech.
ROI builds trust: Tangible yield gains and cost savings win farmer loyalty.
Decentralized scaling: Franchise stores and demo farms accelerate rural adoption and knowledge transfer
