Mizoram R-ABI (R-ABI Mizoram), inaugurated on 23 April 2019, is a flagship Agri Incubator under the RKVY-RAFTAAR initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India. Located at the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, under Central Agricultural University-I, Selesih, Aizawl, it serves as a vital resource for nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship in the agriculture sector across the northeastern region of India.Dedicated to empowering the next generation of agripreneurs, Mizoram R-ABI offers comprehensive support that includes technical mentorship, incubation facilities, seed funding, and commercialization guidance. The incubator focuses on diverse sectors such as agriculture, food processing, dairy, fisheries, livestock, and agri-allied domains. By bridging the gap between innovation and rural enterprise, Mizoram R-ABI is playing a transformative role in promoting sustainable agriculture, strengthening local ecosystems, and enabling startups to scale nationally and globally.

Agri-preneurship Orientation Programme (AOP): Ideation support, technical mentorship, and pre-seed grants (up to ₹5 lakh).
Startup Agri-Business Incubation Programme (SAIP): Seed-stage support with funding up to ₹25 lakh.

Eligibility & Application
Eligibility: Mizoram R-ABI welcomes applications from Indian citizens, grassroots innovators, student teams, and legally registered startups engaged in agriculture, allied sectors, and AgriTech. The eligibility depends on the stage of the project: those with early-stage ideas can apply for the Agri-preneurship Orientation Programme (AOP), while startups with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or prototype can apply under the Startup Agri-Business Incubation Programme (SAIP).
Application Process: Interested applicants must apply through the official Mizoram R-ABI portal during open announcement windows. Required documents include identity proof, business pitch or idea summary, bank details, curriculum vitae, and startup registration certificates (if applicable). The selection process involves initial screening, pitch evaluation, and eligibility verification by the R-ABI committee.

Leadership: Mizoram R-ABI is led by an incubation cell housed at the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (CAU-I), Aizawl. The leadership team comprises incubation managers, academic advisors, and technical experts with deep knowledge in agribusiness development. Guided by RKVY-appointed Knowledge Partners from prestigious institutions like MANAGE, IARI, UAS-Dharwad, NIAM, and AAU-Jorhat, the team ensures strategic planning, quality mentoring, and startup-focused ecosystem development in the region.
Partnerships: The incubator has established strong collaborations with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (RKVY-RAFTAAR), Central Agricultural University, Startup India, FPOs, AgriTech innovators, and financial institutions. These partnerships enable access to capital, advanced infrastructure, technical support, and pilot implementation platforms. Such integrated efforts help Mizoram R-ABI contribute meaningfully to the broader network of Agri Incubators across India.
