Jawahar RKVY-RAFTAAR Agri-Business Incubator (Jawahar R-ABI), launched in 2019 at the Institute of Agri-Business Management, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), is a leading Agri Incubator committed to transforming rural innovations into scalable and profitable agribusiness ventures. As part of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare’s prestigious RKVY-RAFTAAR initiative and mentored by PUSA Krishi (IARI), Jawahar R-ABI offers an integrated ecosystem for agri-entrepreneurs, student innovators, and early-stage startups.The incubator serves as a dynamic platform bridging academic research with market applications through structured pre-seed and seed-stage programs. It supports ventures across domains like agri-processing, sustainable farming, smart irrigation, food tech, post-harvest solutions, and agri-mechanization. With strong government backing, domain mentorship, advanced lab infrastructure, and field-testing opportunities, Jawahar R-ABI empowers startups to scale solutions that directly improve farmer livelihoods, generate rural employment, and promote climate-resilient agriculture.

Services Offered
Pre‑seed Orientation (PRERNA): 30- to 60-day program offering ₹5 lakh grant, incubation, and MVP development support for idea-stage innovators.
Seed‑stage Incubation (SAAKAR): ₹25 lakh funding coupled with expert mentoring to guide startups from prototype validation to market launch.
R&D & Market Linkages: Focused engagement with PUSA Krishi/IARI, help with IPR, pilot testing, value chain integration, and commercialization.
Eligibility & Application
Eligibility: The applicant must be an Indian citizen. Minimum age should be 18 years. Eligible applicants include individuals, students, FPOs, and registered startups with agri-based innovations. For the AOP (Anveshan) program, a validated idea is required. For the SAIP (Avishkar) program, a working MVP or prototype is necessary. DPIIT or Startup India registration is preferred but not mandatory. The innovation must fall under sectors like AgriTech, Agri-Input, Dairy, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, or Agri-Waste & Sustainability

Leadership & Partnerships
Leadership: Dr. S. K. Rao, Vice-Chancellor of JNKVV, provides strategic leadership and institutional oversight to ensure alignment with the university’s innovation goals. Dr. P.K. Bisen, Principal Investigator and Director of the Institute of Agri-Business Management, leads program execution, mentoring, and stakeholder collaboration. A core team of incubation managers, agri-business experts, and technical staff handles daily operations, startup onboarding, grant facilitation, and training activities.
Partnerships: The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare supports Jawahar R-ABI under the RKVY-RAFTAAR scheme. PUSA Krishi (IARI) provides technical and innovation support. ICAR and KVKs assist with field trials and rural outreach. MANAGE Hyderabad offers training and entrepreneurship support. NABARD and SIDBI help with funding and investor connections. Startup India and the MP StartUp Cell enable certifications and scheme access. Industry and FPOs support market testing and product validation.
